This book, published in 1991, exclusively contains pictures of models, drawings and sketches. The absence of photographs of buildings adds a sense of abstractness and removes it from the real world. From the visual language, it is unclear whether we are just looking at polemic paper architecture or actual building proposals. The figure ground relationship is inverted on the pages showing models as the black background off the page and the black background of the model photographs blend into each other. Regarding the title of the book ‘dynamic equilibrium’ it is interesting to see how balanced and symmetrical the spreads are laid out.
